Understanding the Soil, Supporting Sustainable Production
As the Development Foundation of Türkiye (TKV), we conducted soil analyses across 25,612 decares of agricultural land belonging to 501 farmers in Diyarbakır, Mardin, and Batman. Through these analyses, which help identify the characteristics and needs of the soil, we aim to support informed fertilization practices, the more efficient use of agricultural resources, and sustainable production.
Accurate Analysis Starts with Proper Sampling
Understanding the soil and identifying its needs are essential first steps toward sustainable agricultural production. As TKV, we work together with farmers in the field to conduct soil analyses and support agricultural decisions based on reliable data.
As part of the analysis process, soil samples are collected from different points across each field. This approach allows us to better understand the soil’s characteristics and nutrient status.
The samples are analyzed for key parameters including pH, organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and salinity. Based on the results, we identify the specific needs of the soil and support appropriate fertilization and organic matter applications.
501 Farmers, 25,612 Decares of Agricultural Land
As part of our activities in Diyarbakır, Mardin, and Batman, we have conducted soil analyses across 25,612 decares of agricultural land belonging to 501 farmers. Through these efforts, we support farmers in gaining a better understanding of their land and planning their agricultural practices according to the actual needs of their soil.
The data obtained from soil analyses help guide the use of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs according to actual needs. In this way, we aim to promote more efficient use of resources while supporting sustainable agricultural production. As highlighted throughout our work, we understand the soil and act according to its needs.
Together with farmers, we continue to strengthen an approach to agriculture that responds to the needs of the soil, uses resources responsibly and efficiently, and places sustainability at the heart of production.
